GRADUATE PROGRAM IN CLINICAL DENTISTRY

Master's (12 to 36 months) and Doctorate (24 to 48 months)

The graduate program in clinical dentistry leads to master's and doctoral degrees and was established in 1993. It aims to produce highly qualified researchers and professionals who can meet the demands of society. The profile of a graduate who has completed the program successfully will be that of a leading researcher (able to act as an advisor and create and develop research projects and graduate activities), a highly qualified lecturer (able to join, and adapt to, a teaching institution in Brazil or abroad, work as a lecturer and nucleate research) and a health professional able to draw up strategies to improve the quality of life of the local community and/or the communities in other regions.

The program also has a mission to develop cooperative links with other teaching institutions in Brazil with a view to enhancing teaching staff's knowledge and qualifications and introducing Topics of Research that reflect the activities of the other institution and region. A further element of the program's mission is to expand its presence abroad on two fronts: i) by attracting students from other countries, especially Latin American and less developed countries, and ii) by the publication of scientific works produced by teaching staff and students as part of the program.
