2nd RESISPART Symposium

Antimicrobial resistance: challenges and prospects

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) has become one of the largest threats to human health. To face this problem, an interdisciplinary approach is required. This symposium brings together international and national speakers in the field of public health, medical sciences, microbiology, and bioinformatics to understand mechanisms of resistance, microbial control, and to discuss policy issues that may impact on awareness of AMR. This symposium is held on the date of the start of the World Antimicrobial Awareness Week in 2022 (18 to 24/11), the global campaign of the World Health Organization (WHO) that aims to improve awareness and understanding of AMR. Together we can raise awareness about the use of antimicrobials and strengthen preventive measures to combat AMR!

2nd RESISPART Symposium

RESISPART / RESISFORCE is a Norwegian-Indo-Brazilian-Canadian-American consortium with the primary goal to enhance world-class research and education in the combined fields of biofilm and antibiotic resistance. The project is led by the University of Oslo and has Fynd Reality AS as a main partner in Norway. International partners are from the University of Campinas in Brazil, McGill University in Canada, and University of Chicago at Illinois in the USA, in addition to the Kalawati Hospital and TCS in India, and the Forsyth Institute and J Craig Venter Institute in the USA. Together, the institutions develop the project “Norway-India- Brazil-Canada-USA: Partnership for excellence in education, research and innovation in biofilm and antibiotic resistance” that is supported by The Research Council of Norway (RCN). The 2 nd RESISPART Symposium that will be held at Piracicaba Dental School - UNICAMP this year is part of the RESISPART / RESISFORCE project annual meeting.
