ÁREAS DE INTERESSE

O interesse de nosso laboratório poder ser dividido em 3 Áreas:

  • Compreender os mecanismos biológicos e genéticos relacionados ao câncer de boca, particularmente entender a participação dos genes homeobox na tumorigênese oral e determinar a influência dos miofibroblastos do estroma tumoral nos fenótipos relacionados ao câncer, incluindo proliferação e invasão celular.
  • Analisar os aspectos clínicos, epidemiológicos, genéticos e moleculares das doenças genéticas e síndromes com envolvimento orofacial, com particular ênfase ao estudo de polimorfismos genéticos em fissuras lábio-palatinas.
  • Caracterizar os mecanismos biológicos e determinar os defeitos genéticos dos aumentos gengivais induzidos por ciclosporina A e os herdados como fibromatose gengival. Em um futuro próximo identificar moléculas e terapias definitivas para os aumentos gengivais.
